VERMILLION VOCALISTS
What is VeVo?
Established in 2009, Vermillion Vocalists, also known as VeVo, is an all-inclusive a cappella group at the University of California, Irvine dedicated to musical excellence. We are comprised of diverse and talented individuals, united with a shared passion, dedication, and love of music-making. Similarly, we have a diverse taste in repertoire, ranging from classic hits to today's chart toppers in genres such as pop, hip hop, and R&B.
In addition to performing for on-campus events - including Take Back the Night, TEDxIrvine, Celebrate UCI, & more - we also perform within the community for private + public events and compete at the International Competition of College Acapella (ICCA) every year.

FAQs
What songs do we sing?
At UC Irvine, VeVo has developed a name for powerful, intense songs that are as bold as our vermillion colors. As a group with energy, we often look for modern songs that bring the same pop. Some of our classics include "Fall in Line" by Christina Aguilera & Demi Lovato and "Leave Me Lonely" by Ariana Grande ft. Macy Gray. Our softer songs illuminate the blend we curate and we try imbue each one with passion and feeling, like "Erase Me" by Lizzy Alpine and our mashup of "Rain/Fate" by Sunday Service choir/H.E.R.

How often do we perform?
On average, we have about 4-5 performances every quarter. These range from paid gigs to awards ceremonies, on-campus and off-campus festivals, events hosted by other acapella groups, and acapella competitions. We are always looking for more ways to showcase our music and like to explore all opportunities to do so.
Vermillion Vocalists also hosts our very own showcase every school quarter where family, friends, alumni, and music-lovers alike are invited to see what we've worked on! It's a mix of solo and group songs that each bring their own VeVo flair. Keep up with our Instagram to get the updates on what's coming next!
How do I audition?
We hold auditions at Week 0 of every school year (in September), which is about a week and a half process. We welcome auditionees from any and all backgrounds of experience - whether you've been in a choir or just like casual karaoke, we would love to see you stop by!
